Digital cameras have changed the way people take pictures. Technology has definitely changed over time and many enthusiasts have discovered photography all over again.
You can change the way a photograph turns out by using different speeds and lenses. There are many types and ranges of lenses for the digital cameras. There are telephoto and wide angle lenses that are commonly used and can be used with filters and adapters. Many photographers whether amateur or professional use wide angle lenses for those special landscape or sport shots.
Wide angle lenses can be used to allow the user to show more of a scene. Mountain scenes, sunrises, sunsets and even sports fields are generally photographed with wide angle lenses. They also allow the user to be creative and take the photos from unique angles, emphasizing foreground without blurring or distorting the background.
The wide angle lens can make the subject look three-dimensional by making a long object appear longer. The look can make the viewer feel they are looking down a railroad track, fence line or a road as it stretches off into the distance. Using the wide angle lens can also be an asset when taking close up interior shots of large groups of people. They make subjects appear smaller and they capture the whole scene.
Many people consider wide-angle lens extremely handy and fun because they do not have to focus accurately. They take in entire scenes and most of it will be in focus. However, they are not good for close up portraits or small scenes. Wide-angle lenses are good for shooting portraits of large groups with scenery in the background. Go out, practice shooting and have a good time. Practice will allow you to catch that perfect shot.
