Best Ways to Photograph Pets

Pets are such a highlight within our lives. Everyone has snapshots or photos of our pets doing something special or being within a family gathering. Although very expensive photography equipment and years of training is believed to provide the very best pictures, it is true that understanding the process will also generate wonderful photographs of your pets.

In general, natural light is the best for pet photography. It will avoid the effect of red eye in the animal, as well as not spooking them with the bright flash. People tend to both take pictures from a distance and use the zoom feature to make the pet larger in the picture. Also we tend to look down at the pet when the pictures are taken. This is your pet; take the time to get down to their level by sitting or lying on the ground with them. If they get up on some brickwork or a chair in their own playful way, stay sitting and enjoy the antics of your pet as you snap their pictures.

Now you know the best light, pet temperament, and levels to attain when photographing your pet. Keep in mind that as much as you are ready to take photos, your pet may not be ready. Let your animal friends investigate, play, and try to figure out what the camera is and why you are so intent on being there watching them. As they grow accustomed to you being there, the curiosity of the camera will fade and their normal nature will come forth. Patience is the key to bond with your pet in obtaining good resulting photographs.
